Student Instructional Rating System (End of Year Survey) - Current Issues in Education (Spring 2016)

"Rachel did an AMAZING job with this course! She was one of the best instructors that I have had in my college career. She was engaging, thoughtful, and very supportive while also knowing when to push me. She ran this class VERY will! I will definitely take away a lot from this course into my future career and studies!"

"I really enjoyed this class, more so the instructor. Rachel gave very detailed and timely feedback that I really appreciated. She was also very available if I ever had a question outside of class. She maintained a high respect for the individuals in the classroom and I felt that my opinions were heard."

"Rachel is absolutely fantastic while teaching this course. She values opinions and always offered her own stance on the situation, although she does not come from a teaching background, but a public policy one. This has become my absolute favorite course while at MSU and I highly recommend it to anyone that expressed interest in this subject."

Midsemester Survey - Current Issues in Education (Spring 2016)

"I thoroughly enjoy this class! Everyone works together well and has a passion for education. Rachel is a great instructor and always gives advice/additional resources for me to expand my knowledge of education policy."

"I really do like your lecture material and slides. This class can be hard for me to sit through though simply because it is three hours long and it's early, but that's just me! I feel like the class is a good balance of politics and education which is what the class is all about! "

"I honestly love this class. I have learned a lot about the background of education and I think that the way this class is taught is very well! "

"I honestly do not think that there is anything substantial that can be done to improve the class. I really enjoy it, and I think that I have learned a lot more than I was expecting. "

"I think Rachel did really good job to help students in this class and I can feel she really cares about all the students. The only thing that I feel could be improved for this class is that the class time is too long. I can pay may attention on the teaching during the first hour and half, but I easily fly away later. I feel a long time class makes me really hard to totally focus on, but I can feel Rachel has already tried best to make the class interesting. But I hope I can still concentrate on the class during the last hour. "
